My Story

Hi! My name is Melissa K. I'm a Toronto-based artist and illustrator, who has a passion for caricatures, comics, cartooning, anime & manga, and illustration.

"First and foremost, I have always been a story teller. I knew innately that I was artist from a young age. I learned how to draw before I even learned how to write my name.

When it comes to my art, I always find ways to tell a story through everything I create, no matter how big or small the project. I'm the type of creator who wants to do it all: build the worlds, create the people that inhabit them, and craft their narratives and bring it all to life If I can find a way to evoke a thought, a feeling, or get my audience to stop to take a look and immerse themselves in the unfolding story of my art... I know that I'm doing something right.

I am a graduate of MTM College with a diploma in Illustration for Sequential Arts. Prior to that I also completed the Fine Arts Studio program at Centennial College.

I am a hybrid creator who is classically trained in traditional art as well as digital art. I am also very skilled in character concept art, storyboarding, comic layouts, caricature art, background and environmental art."
